It’s been so cold this week that yesterday my front door actually froze shut! I got out the hair dryer and thawed it enough to get it open. Now that’s cold. Needless to say, it was a good week to stay in and puzzle (after the shoveling was done.) I finished this 750-piece puzzle called Farmer’s Market in three days. I loved all the color, and it had so many fun little details. Made me anxious for summer and farm fresh veggies 🙂

This was another library puzzle swap find. I’ll admit, as I got toward the end, I kind of held my breath until the last piece was put in. Happily, they were all there 🙂
How do you like to spend these cold, winter days?
Thank goodness there are no missing pieces anymore.🤩 Beautiful puzzle and well done, Jean. The weather is good here.
Yes, thank goodness, Hazel 🙂 We are going to start slowly warming up next week. I hope the bitter cold will be behind us 🙂
Yes, spring is coming! Keep warm before it comes.
What a great looking puzzle
It was a lot of fun 🙂
Maybe some large towels or something else would help your door to not freeze?
I have towels rolled up at the bottoms of both doors. It started with the lock mechanism. Have never had that happen before. So looking forward to tomorrow’s 40 degrees 🙂
That’s a heatwave! Some WD40 sprayed in the lock mechanism should help the key work.
Beautiful puzzle and I’m glad you got your door unfrozen. That would be a tad scary.
I am too, Dawna! This ice is, indeed scary. All of the parking lots around here are sheets of ice and it’s too cold for salt to melt it. So many people I know have fallen and gotten hurt. Spring, please hurry!
They have puzzles at the thrift store. I asked the lady how do you know all the pieces are there? Imagine putting together 999 pieces and missing one 🤪 She said they take donated puzzles to a retirement place where the volunteer residents count them. Thought was pretty cool, win-win 😎
That has happened to me twice in recent memory, Darryl. I usually don’t buy my puzzles at Goodwill or garage sales unless they are sealed for just that reason. I can’t imagine counting all the pieces before starting a puzzle!
Those hair dryers come in handy. I used mine to thaw out a frozen pipe. Glad you were able to get your door thawed.
Yes it sure did come in handy, Mags. My back door was not frozen, however I have only cleared a very small area for Miss Emma to go out and it would have been an icy walk to the driveway if I had to use it 🙂
Icy walks are not good. Glad you were able to make a way for Miss Emma to go out.
Gosh, that’s very cold, Jean! I suffer from chilblains on my toes, so particularly hate the cold! Snacks, books, and movies keep me occupied.
I had to look up chillblains to see what it was, Ada. That doesn’t sound like fun at all 😦 Snacks, books, and movies (or puzzles!) are the way to go!
Yes, they’re a bit of a nuisance! Hope you stay warm and that spring is on it’s way soon.
Yikes! A frozen door. Those are always unexpected and unfortunate. Glad you were able to thaw it out! I love the puzzle! It has really been frigid and I’m so looking forward to the warmer temps this week. During this last cold spell, I worked on my puzzle, too. I have only two trays of pieces left to place. The “holes” remaining in the puzzle are scattered all over the puzzle. LOL! I find it so rewarding to find pieces I’ve been searching for. Hope you enjoy this week and that it brings you many smiles and scenes for your current writing project!
Thank you, Carol Ann 🙂 This frigid weather has really taken a toll in so many ways, hasn’t it? I’m glad we have our stories and puzzles to keep us cozy 🙂
